The 2020 edition was cancelled because of the pandemic, and the 2021 edition was considered a far too risky proposition. In the meantime, “GIMS” (Geneva International Motor Show”) decided to sell the show to Palexpo, the Geneva exhibition. However, Palexpo has not been interested to enter into such a purchase and so the future of the Geneva Auto Salon became totally in question.
After the upbeat announcement of a 2022 edition for 19 to 27 February, we learned that it would not take place. All news recorded here in case the info gets removed from the official site. We learned that no salon would take place before 2023 which naturally made us all wonder if it will ever return, or if it does in what form. Now, in August 2022, we learn that no Geneva show will take place in 2023, the Qatar version will take precedence instead and plans are that it be held there every two years.
