a privilege to studio record this trio
at the Conservatoire Populaire de Genève in June 2017. We used the concert room for the second time that year – an acoustically and visually perfect space. We are grateful, not only to this top-of-the line, very cool, trio – but also to the lighting specialist who created a professional “look” for our cameras to capture. We used a total of four cameras – 3 tripod-mounted from our arsenal and one “roving” by Aline Christinat.
Video capture and montage by marcomathieumedia.
Also we did the sound recording – 2xNeumann/piano, 2xAudioTechnica/overhead, plus drum kick and double bass.
Raphael Nick (dr), Evaristo Pérez (p) and Cédric Gysler (b) play quite nonchalantly with modern jazz sounds and tones. Free and relaxed, their improvisations are inspired by the musicality of EST, Brad Mehldau and Enrico Pieranunzi.
We recorded four pieces (all composed by the group) during the one 4-hour session.

“NT” (E.Pérez)
“Fissures” (C.Gysler)
“Mountain Walk” (E.Pérez)
“Houla Hoop” (E.Pérez)
