Montreux 2024 photo story

Photo visit 8July2024: [post1]

images of the new infrastructure — 2m2c (the Montreux convention center comprising the Stravinsky hall and Miles Davis / Jazz Lab) is under major renovation for two years (see the official renovation project details and videos).

Meanwhile, Jazz Festival paying concerts are moved to the Casino and to MJF’s second-ever Lake Stage [first was in 2021 during Covid – see our 2021 post dedicated to that lake stage].

Back of Lake Stage can be open – viewing the show, boats . . .
and sunsets.

Lake House with the Memphis free concert hall, bibliotèque, cinema, and others, provides continuity.

Administrative and commercial functions (welcome desk, tickets, wrist bands, festival shop, press office, etc) have all needed to re-locate from the 2m2c center to temporary structures further along the lakeside.

Other free stages remain, relocated

The Lake Stage is understandably not viewable during shows, but frustratingly hidden all the time.

Montreux remains Montreux: always a great place to be – even if the statue of Freddie Mercury needed to be moved to allow construction of the temporary Lake Stage (!!)
