PDF of full Manifesto here Our post about Pride week and the Pride march here.
MANIFESTO ITEMS:
“We want to pay tribute to all who have gone down in the street throughout history. To show them that we are still here with a long road ahead of us to achieve legal and actual equality, and to change mindsets.”
Geneva, 17th May 2019, International Day against LGBTIQ+phobias
WE MARCH, ESPECIALLY:
BECAUSE OUR BODIES AND LIVES CANNOT BE CLASSIFIED IN A BINARY WAY
BECAUSE THE LIVES OF TRANS PEOPLE ARE STILL TOO DIFFICULT
BECAUSE INSULTS AND VIOLENCE ARE STILL COMMONPLACE AND SWISS LAW REMAINS SILENT
BECAUSE IN SWITZERLAND, BEING A YOUNG LGBTIQ+ PERSON IS NOT EASY, EVEN IN 2019
BECAUSE GEOGRAPHICAL, GENDER- AND SEXUALITY-BASED BORDERS SHOULD BE OPEN
BECAUSE DISCRIMINATION IN THE WORK-PLACE IS STILL RIFE
BECAUSE UNIONS AND PARENTHOOD NEED TO BE RETHOUGHT
BECAUSE WE FIGHT IN SOLIDARITY
BECAUSE OUR DESIRES ARE STILL CONSIDERED PROVOCATIVE
