We have oft times wondered at how a steel cable for a cable car or gondola is transported, lifted up and joined with strength to hold tonnes of weight and endure oodles of tension.
In our short video from the fall of 2018 we glimpse the amazing cable system of the 2.3 km Stanserhorn “CabriO – watch a ballet of construction helicopters at Disentis – witness the construction site of a new gondola lift at Oberalppass, and – get quite close to the steel cable-splicing process.
